This week at the Heart2Heart Challenge Blog there is a "No Rules" Challenge! That's right, the challenge is to create anything you want to. Well there is just one small rule. You must use Close to My Heart products.
Living in Western New York can sometimes be very challenging. I have lived here 40 years and have seen many snow storms in my time. The big ones, 1977, 1985 and 2006 shut down the entire area... stores, banks, schools, streets, mail delivery... Houses and businesses collapsed from the heavy snow on the roof, trees destroyed, and even deaths. But through all of it people gathered together to help not only their neighbors, but perfect strangers as well.
Last week was the biggest snow disaster of them all. Up to 84" in snow fell in areas. We were literally trapped in our house. The snow was up to the top of our doors. My husband had to continuously climb out a window to clear out our furnace vent on the side of the house so that we would have heat. Temperatures were in the teens,
The National Guard was here clearing snow almost all week. After 3 days of shoveling (the snow was too high to use a snow blower) we were able to hire someone with a large piece of snow removal equipment to finish out the digging. Although we still were not able to leave the house because of the driving ban.
Six days after the snow started falling the temperature rose to 65 degrees. Now everyone worried about flooding. We were very fortunate that the only damage to our property was a broken outdoor light and some broken bushes.
My layout is the first of many I will be making for the Snowvember Storm. My pictures are not yet printed, but here are a few that I took:
And finally the layout. using last year's CTMH "Frosted" paper and D1480 "Snowflakes" stamp set:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #81
I missed last week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, so I thought I'd better get this week's done while I have the time!
This card was really quick and easy to make. I used the Close to My Heart Stamp Set from the Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshop (D1625) and heat embossed the image in gold. The border and banners are made from Gold Shimmer Trim.

Three Amigo's Mini Blog Hop
Welcome to the Three Amigos November 2014 Close to My Heart Mini-Blog Hop. We are three Close to My Heart Consultants with a love for Stamping and Scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you. On the 3rd day of each month we will feature a different CTMH product and create a card, layout or other project. There are only 3 stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.
This month we are making our project using the new Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge. Artfully sent is designed for making greeting cards, has upper and lower case alphabet and much more!
The first card I made with the retired paper pack "Balloon Ride" The outside is simple but when you open it up you get a 3-D balloon!
